What is flake flooring?

Flake flooring is a multi-layer resin coating system. A pigmented base coat is applied first, followed by decorative vinyl flakes while the coating is still wet. Once cured, the excess flakes are removed, and the surface is sealed with a clear polyaspartic topcoat. The result is a seamless, textured, and slip-resistant floor that is both durable and attractive.

How long does a flake floor take to install?

Most residential garages up to a two-car size can be completed in just one day. Larger commercial spaces or floors requiring significant crack or pitting repairs may take up to two days to complete.

When can I drive on it?

Light foot traffic is typically allowed after approximately 4 to 6 hours. Vehicles should remain off the floor for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity during installation.

Is flake flooring slippery when wet?

No. The decorative flake system creates a subtle textured surface that provides excellent traction. For pool decks or commercial entryways, an additional anti-slip aggregate can be added to the topcoat at no extra cost for enhanced safety.

Will it peel or flake off like epoxy kits?

No. Peeling is usually caused by poor surface preparation rather than the coating itself. Every floor is professionally diamond-ground to properly prepare the concrete and create a strong mechanical bond before the coating is applied. This critical preparation step is often skipped by hardware store epoxy kits, which is why they are more likely to fail.
